What is an OCT?
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test performed by a qualified optometrist or ophthalmologist. OCT uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina, which can reveal underlying eye problems that a normal eye examination may not detect.
Up to 80% of vision impairment and blindness can be prevented by early detection. With the help of 3D optical coherence tomography, many eye conditions can be revealed early and an appropriate avenue of treatment can begin.
At Taylor Eyewear, we have the latest 3D-OCT technology in store to help assist in the diagnosis of many eye disorders including glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
OCT scanning is an optional part of your eye test and comes at a cost of $50.00. As subsequent OCT scans may need to be performed, they come free of charge for a 12 month period.
